So I was at work today doing a shuttle of 8 people back to there hotel room. They were talking about something religious when they were loading in my van and a question was posed to them. One man asked a lady “what do you think an angel is? Like what do they look like and stuff.” And the lady replied with, “well they are beautiful figures with halos, and wings and dressed in all white.” Which is the typical answer you would hear if one was asked that question. Then the man asked me, “driver, what do YOU think an angel is?” This is what I said, “I do not believe that angels have wings or halos, or dress in all white.” They all kinda paused for a minute and looked at me with a puzzled face. The man then said “well what is an angel to you?” I replied with “an angel to me is anyone who can make you smile even when everything is going to shit in your love. A angel is someone who knows you are having issues and will do anything to help you even if they have their own problems. An angel is someone who can take you home when home becomes a strange place. A true angel is someone who loves you unconditionally when you can’t even say that you love yourself unconditionally. A angel in my mind is a true love, a best friend, or someone you can trust with your life. You trust them with your deepest, darkest secrets without a second thought.” They all were just amazed at that answer. Then the lady that was asked the question to begin with said “well from your amazing description, you must have an angel or two in your life.” I replied with “as a matter of fact, I do. My girlfriend is my angel. She may have caused pain in my life but she also saved me from myself. She saved me from my alcoholism and my depression an I owe my life to her. I would do anything for her. And another one is my mother, she raised me onset own since I was 6. She worked three jobs just to make sure I could do everything I wanted. And she still does more for me now than I could ever thank her for. The two of them are the most wonderful people in my life.” Everyone in the van was just amazed on what I had spoken and I didn’t even know how to react.
